Inspire.

(maren)

Been in a very contemplative mood today and I thought I would pose the question to you all, what is the one thing you are so determined to do, but at the same time so scared to do as the thought of failure is so overwhelming?

Very interested in hearing what your answers are!

Honey in the sun.

The countdown is on! In just over a week's time our little party of friends are making our way down to Wellington for a couple of days of relaxing, drinking tea (and some evening wines of coarse!), sight seeing and shopping!! I have made sure that I don't spend a penny on clothes these last few months so that I will be able to just go out and get what I want!

So this lookbook by Rockie Nolan that I stumbled upon gave me so much inspiration for some summer outfits! Don't you just love the combinations? This summer I want to try pull of things I've never done before, so hopefully there will be some good finds in Wellington :)

Here are some pieces that I will hunt down:

First off, I don't do shorts. It would be quite rare to see me wearing them. But there is always a time of first, so if I could find a sweet pair like these I would be stoked :)

A mustard cardi or blazer! This colour is just so attractive at the moment! And if I cannot find any...then orange or peach is my next option.

I know I am normally caught wearing black, but I just had to point out the beautiful lacey jacket that she is wearing, oh love!

Shoes! I need new shoes! And a pair like these would be perfect.

So that's a short list of things I need for summer. That and a new bag :) Hah am I the only one that seems to be in such a need for some new clothes or is there someone else out there like me?? Fingers crossed to find some goodies!

Happy weekend! x

Cute and Quirky.

Lately I keep stumbling on Nan Lawson's art prints, so I thought I must share some. As you can tell by some of my posts these last few weeks, I love and adore art prints! So it shouldn't come as a surprise that I want all of Nan's work hanging in my home. They are so quirky and fun and I love that they are all so simple.

Make sure you check out more of her prints on sale in her etsy store.

Also a big thank you to everyone who entered the Sunday Apparel giveaway! The winner is Kit, from That Unreliable Girl! A big congratulations :) If you didn't win this one, make sure you go check out their facebook page and order your favourite piece! I'm already trying to decide which one I want to get :)

Black Baroque

I am so extremely exited about this etsy shop! Black Baroque is the creators of these stunning prints! Their shop has been closed for a couple of months, but this morning I saw that it is open again with 28 beautiful new prints! And just in time for me to start doing Christmas shopping - and to make it better they ship free worldwide! Too good to be true :)

Make sure you head over to their shop and let me know which ones are you favourites! I must say I adore the Alice in Wonderland collection and the Victorian ones, but actually cannot pick ONE print which is my favourite.

Fancy treehouse.

So as you all probably know by know, it's slowing becoming warmer as we get closer to summer here on this side of the world, and oh boy I cannot wait! I've been trying to save my pennies ready for a big shopping splurge when we go down to Wellington in a couple of weeks. So I've been eyeing out ideas for outfits, accessories, shoes and sunnies that I need to hunt down when we get down there.

Great timing for me to come across this awesome Lookbook by Coury Combs. I adore the style and layering of pieces and accessories. The shoes, the belt, the bag, the cardis....it just works so incredibly well together! And this time round, I want to be adventurous and try an orange/peach dress like the one featured above. Not sure if I would suit it, but I do want to try!

And so it's long weekend, hope you have a special time! Make sure to check out my fashion giveaway Sunday, which closes at the end of the week :)

A place to call home.

Meet Ines Colmorgen + André Wyst, owners of the most beautiful Berlin apartment featured below. I am drooling over the beautiful white interior, with a clean crisp design when it comes the furniture and decor.

I find it really hard to narrow down a specific style or theme that I would like to decorate my home with one day. I guess it's a good thing that I don't have a proper home set up yet, and gives me some time to sort out ultimately what I would like.
There is just too much to like in this house:

I could add these tins to my wish list. I love and adore tins!

Isn't the diamond style floor just gorgeous?

Stunning collection of tea cups and saucers.

My favourite: A sewing room! This I definitely want!

And lastly, a fantastic book collection. Something I should get started on now :)

Recycled furniture - Recreate

A little while ago I came across Recreate via Curious Constellations. Designer Katie Thompson takes innovation to a whole new level and gives a new meaning to the saying "one man's junk is another man's treasure".

"Using pieces of discarded junk, Katie recreates a unique, recycled range of furniture, lighting and interior accessories, each piece infused with its own previous character but with a new function."

Fascinating to see what you can use to create these cutting edge pieces. I am in love! And totally would not mind owing "The Suitcase Chair".

Also, thank you to everyone who entered the Neverland Collective giveaway. I will be in touch with the winner shortly :)

I'll eat you up I love you so.

Finally, it's weekend. Breathe.

Earlier on this week I was planning on spending my time this weekend immersing myself in crafts, sewing, drawing and finishing off some design work. But do you know what, I am going to scrap all that and instead I am off to the lake with the family to have some play time on the jet ski.

However, I do have some inspiration to share with you! Moxiedoll has the sweetest etsy store filled with beautiful embroider wall hangings! I've done some smaller simpler embroider pieces, but this totally inspired me to get some more. I must say, I adore that heart! I can already see it in my little house :)

Also, just a reminder, tomorrow is the last day to enter the Neverland Collective giveaway so get in quick! :)

Cut Copy Create.

Just recently, I came across Cut Copy Create via Conversation Pieces and I have to say, I am in love! Bookmarking these for some Christmas ideas!

I have been thinking, it's time I start a little project, just to keep myself proactive. So today I bought some material and buttons and I am ready to make some canvas bags! Keeping in the theme of Christmas, wouldn't it be great actually making your own Christmas pressies? So it's time to get started!

Mysterious girl.

(reka koti)

Meet Reka Koti, a young Hungarian photographer who does the most incredible work! I completely fell in love with this set of lomography prints that she has done and couldn't resist but to show you all!

To read a bit more info about her, check out this online interview. She has a very inspiring story how she first started taking photos when she did volunteer work after the tsunami in South India.

Also, a huge thank you to you all! I've received the sweetest emails this week from you, lovely friends, and just want to say a big thank you :) It is very encouraging to know you enjoy and are inspired by the things shared on here. If you are an etsy shop owner, keen photographer or artist, feel free to flick me an email as I love seeing new work!

Happy weekend everyone! Enjoy some sunshine :)
