Home desires.

(Selina Lake)

I cannot say this enough...The thought of owning my own home one day and decorating how I like is getting unbearable! What makes it even harder is working in our sweet little store filled with gorgeous gift & homeware. I want everything!

But all in due time :) At the moment, I will just admire gorgeous interiors like these!

Apologies!

(tirilhuan)

So tonight I actually realized how long I have been absent from you all! I apologise for my lack of posts lately, didn't realize this past week went by so quickly. But here I am to share some sweet pictures that I adore - loving the simplicity and innocence in these pictures.

Well tonight, I enjoyed sitting in front of the TV, making Christmas decorations for the store and looking out for Amanda's Cornetto ad which was aired tonight (YAY manda so proud!) and recovering from a long week.

So...four weeks till Christmas...truelly???

Sweet summer love.

(Vanessa)

Been enjoying some sweet sunshine these last few days and I must say, I am enjoying the prospect of many more days at the beach, floral summer dresses, out on picnics, lying in the sun reading a book, taking snapshots and enjoying some yummy ice teas and ice creams.

So much to look forward to and these images kind of summed it up for me :)

Made by Julene.

This has been such a frustrating evening! There's a deadline, but there's no inspiration and time is ticking. Through all my frustrations this evening though, I did manage to find these beautiful paper cuts by Julene via Sometimes Sweet (Danni had her beautiful little bubba!). So not quite the inspiration which I needed for this specific project, but I must say it did cheer me up. And now I am a little bit obsessed with paper cuts again. I just absolutely admire the craftsmanship that goes into making these, beautiful!

Coffee table book inspiration.

I assume everyone would be acquainted with the lovely The Selby by now, but I couldn't resist sharing my latest treasure with you. On our trip to Wellington earlier this month I got my hands on this pretty little book by Todd Selby, and gosh can I just say, you need to put this on your Christmas wish list! The Selby is in your place book was released earlier this year, and it's taken this long for me to actually find it in a bookstore! Have a sneak peak of the book here or order it online at Amazon, but just make sure you get your hands on a copy!

Reusable ribbon posters.

Today I am keeping it sweet and short, as I have a tonne of design work to get done today (on a Saturday, I know!) so it's a good thing I love it so :)

Thought I would give you a quick look at these amazing reusable ribbon posters by Christ Wharton, who is also a fellow designer. I thought that was just a very unique, innovative idea, so be inspired! :)

Happy weekend x

Flickr Faves Friday

(image 1 - le portillon. image 2 - hannah sofia. image 3 - ayana. image 4 - vanessa. image 5 - sadie w. harris. image 6 - aelix.)

Oh hello there Friday, how lovely it is to meet you again!
I don't know if it just me, but I am so goodness-gracious-me happy that it is weekend! Looking forward to a girl's night with a couple of girlfriends, while all the husbands are away at Man Camp (so cute!) and being all manly, doing manly things. So it's time to kick off the shoes, sit down with a glass of wine, eating some dessert and relaxing! Anyone else got any exciting plans this weekend?

Also, yay, I remembered to join in on Flickr Faves Friday! Wooh, I always have fun going through all my recent flickr finds and spreading the love (and the links!), so enjoy and make sure if you join in to leave a link so we can check it out!

Marion Bolognesi.

How incredible are these art illustrations by Marion Bolognesi?? I remember seeing her work a while ago, but this time round when I came across it via Design Folio, I couldn't help but be captivated.

"She hopes to capture the emotion & beauty of her subjects without hindering the natural fluidity of her medium."

I did some works a couple of years ago using watercolours, and I think after seeing these works, it may be time to get out those brushes again! Truelly worth the visit to go check out her site :)

Just lovely.

(hannah sofia)

What a lovely evening. Had a sweet braai (South African BBQ) with just Neil and I tonight and it was just great to sit around the fire and hangout (especially after our first evening of sprint training - I am tired!). So on that note, I am keeping it short tonight and going to hang out with my man :)

I love you more than all the stars.

(shanna murray via oh so beautiful paper)

How absolutely gorgeous are these window and wall decals by Shanna Murray? I love the idea of the decal frames on walls! Especially since I am building up a collection of my 120 film shots (which I don't have an album for), I think this would be the perfect idea for displaying them.

Has anyone starting thinking of Christmas yet? I am not sure whether I should take up the challenge of making gifts this year (I did a few last year) as time seems to be ticking and apparently there's only 6 weeks to go! Truelly frightful.

Will be needing ideas soon!

Store Love: Martha's Pantry

So obviously, I haven't gotten over quite how amazing Wellington was, so today I had to share my favourite store from our little trip.

Welcome to Martha's Pantry. This beautiful little cafe is filled with all things beautiful, like mismatching chairs & tables, a collection of beautiful teacups and saucers, tiny little vases with lovely handpicked flowers and such lovely staff. There was nothing quite like it, it felt like home :) And to make things even more special, the husband, Neil agreed to have a cup of tea with me (which is uncalled!) so we shared a teapot with a cosy for our last morning in Wellington.

My lovely man enjoying his tea.

I love that they serve your tea in a mismatching set of teacups and teapots.

Seriously, aren't these just gorgeous? This is just a selection of all the teapots and cups they had, there was still another shelf that looked very much like this.

The collection of teas and coffee machine. Seriously low prices on the menu as well, most affordable cup of tea I've had!

Shelves filled with some lovely knick knacks and giftware. I managed to find myself a gorgeous little tin to remind us of our journey to Martha's Pantry.

There's no place like home.

Hello lovelies, we are home! What an amazing couple of days away in one of the coolest little cities ever, Wellington! I have to say, I am completely in love! All the wonderful streets of unique independant stores, incredible restaurants and bars with such personality had me in awe the whole time. From dancing the night away in a bar called Mighty Mighty to Queen and the Family Guy theme song, to having dinner in a garden bar/restaurant, Southern Cross, under warm blankets and play giant Jenga after dinner, I loved every moment of it! And what wonderful company :) Thanks Jeremy and Amanda, we had a ball! May there be many more to come.

I need to say a massive thank you to all the lovelies that guest posted for me while I was away, it meant a lot to me that you took care of my blog so well :)

These are only a few snippets of our trip that was taken on our Diana mini, but there will be plenty more to come! Also, head over to Here Comes the Sun for some more snapshots! Amanda will be posting her fantastic Instax photos soon :)

There's no place like home!

Guest Post: Much Love

Hi all! This is Anna from the blog Much Love, and I'm here to do a guest post for Ilana while she's away :)

I want to share with you these cute drink coaster designs. Found on the site Pepper Sprouts, this set of four wooden coasters would add some fun to any coffee table, don't you think? The chair designs have been hand drawn and etched on the wood, while small pieces have been cut away.

Thanks for having me here Ilana! x

Guest Post: But, Honestly

Hey there guys, my name is Emma from over at But Honestly. I'm delighted to guest post for the ever lovely Ilana as she frolics around Wellington, finding hidden nooks and crannies, having the time of her life!

{aimeeketsdever}

I thought I'd share one of my favourite flickr finds lately. Such lovely warm, cozy photos! I don't know whether it's a nesting instinct kicking in or it's the time of year that we are in but lately I feel the need to snuggle! In a warm sun drenched room, with a good book, good fresh summer fruit and a warm spring breeze. Ahhh bliss! Usually one should feel like this as they approach the winter months, not the warmer ones? But I'm always more than happy to get cozy, whatever the time of year!

Hope you all have a relaxed, cozy start to the week!

Emma
