The Lomography & See Me Everywhere Competition! {CLOSED}

(Image. Shop.)

I am happy to finally be able to share this competition I am hosting, in collaboration with the Lomography! The thing I love most about Lomography, is the fact that your pictures are raw and untouched snippets of a moment in time to be treasured. We all know the saying A picture says a thousand words, so for this competition it will be up to you to take a picture that tells the story.

The Low Down - Your picture must be based around this quote: "I still believe in paradise. But now at least I know it's not some place you can look for..." You can be creative and interpret it any way you want, and through your photo, finish the sentence.

The Snap Snap - You can use either digital or analogue photography to capture your photo, however please do not submit a photo that has been edited through a phone application (e.g. Hipstamatic).

The Golden Ticket - You can upload your photos to this flickr pool that is specific to this competition. Otherwise, send them to me personally at seemeverywhere {at} gmail.com, and I will upload them. You can enter as many times as you would like. For the title of your photo, make sure to include your ending to the sentence.

The Champion - One lucky winner will become the new owner of Lomography's Sprocket Rocket camera!!! The winner will be based around the most creative photo, not on the most photos uploaded.

The Closing - Competition closes on the 15th April 2011, to give those of us who are taking analogue photos plenty time to get them developed.

The Surprise - Not only is this a competition to win a Sprocket Rocket camera... Lomography is also giving away not one or two, but FIFTY $10 vouchers!! That means FIFTY of you lucky readers will be treated to a little voucher towards your next purchase with Lomography. All you have to do to go in the draw to win the voucher, is to leave your name and email in a comment below. PLEASE supply email address as comments without email address will not be considered for the giveaway as I won't be able to contact you.

By entering the giveaway, you may receive Lomography Newsletters.

I am Confused - Not to worry, just flick me an email with any further questions regarding the competition :)

Have fun coming up with some creative concepts for photos and don't forget to upload them here, as I will be sharing some in the next couple of weeks!

EDIT: This competition is now closed!

Blog Crush: A Little Brighter

Let me introduce you to A Little Brighter, a gorgeous style-blog that has the most incredible thrifted outfits and also a fellow kiwi. I only discovered this lovely blog last week, and I am in love! She is inspiring me to do a style post myself (a little bit nervous as I have never done these before)!

If you are a New Zealander yourself, you can find her fantastic collection of vintage finds on Trade Me or check out her facebook page.

P.S. Hopefully internet will be restored in the next day or two, so things shall return to normal then :) ALSO, can I get you even more excited about this Thursday's competition that is FINALLY being launched here. I am bursting to share more info...

The Move.

Wow, so can I please have this house and all the interiors for my birthday? We are moving house on Friday and I must say I am rather excited to set up our little nook. When I saw this house featured by Jen from Made by Girl of Nicole's house from Me Oh My Mama, instantly I knew what I would love my house to look like!

We shall be moving into another cosy little home (which I have actually not seen yet), but that is all we need at the moment. I may be absent this weekend, as I am not sure if internet will already be set up, but hopefully I shall be able to share some pictures of our new home once it is set up.

Wooh!

Colour me pretty.

Photography by a favourite of mine, Li Hui.

Colour, Double Exposure, Dreamy lighting...I need to take more photos!

Husband, Read This.

Well, this post is for you Neil - you said you wanted some ideas of what to get for my birthday, so here you go :) Hah! As this month has been so busy, and since we are moving house this weekend as well, there's been so much on my mind, I haven't even thought of what I would like. But after spending hours looking for ideas, this is what I've come up with:

Patterned Yellow Dress
Canvas Satchel
Vero Moda Button Skirt
Cloud Mobile via Style Milk
Penguin Classic Books
Viktoriya by Bec Winnel
Moulin Rouge poster by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec
Holga Camera 135BC Yellow

And, if you want to go all out you could get me one of these babies:

(Canon 550D)

Or if you reaaaally want to make me happy, you could even get me one of these:

:)
(Gorgeous baby Eleanor - Rockstar Diaries)

So this was fun! But more than anything, I would just love to get dressed up, go out with the husband and come home to share in the birthday cuddles from our little bun bun and friends.

The weekend that was.

What a weekend! As you know, a crowd of us made our way up to Auckland on Friday for the opening of the Diana World Tour, and what an awesome evening that was. These are just a few snippets of our evening of plastic fantastic. A big thank you to Emma from But Honestly, Liss from Daydream Lily, Sone from Polli, Dane from Tornadoes & Tigers, Melissa from From Me To You, Shannon and Neil for making it such an enjoyable night. Big ups to the husband who had to endure 3 hours worth of driving, listening to four girls' chatter and ranting - you are a true sport :)

Love for Lomography.

Holga 120

Diana Mini

LCA +

As you all know, tomorrow some friends and I are heading up to Auckland for the Lomography: Diana World Tour. I am buzzing with excitement, so I thought I would share some photos of some of my favourite lomography cameras. All of these are taken by the very talented Karen Francisco. Let me just say, it is worth a look through her flickr account, as she has well over 300 pictures of lomography inspiration! Who has some of the cameras listed above?

So planning for a weekend filled with a whole lot of cameras! Hmmm suppose I better share some pictures then next week :)

I See Mint Green.

Happy St Patrick's Day! I thought since everything is about being green today, I would share this lovely Mint Green themed party I came across via Somewhere Splendid from Call Me Cupcake. This is definitely a colour I need on my palette this year!

The story of Saint Patrick always fascinated me, and in case you don't know who he actually is, it is worth reading through this. Not quite sure how it turned into a drinking day for so many though?

Pick a Pillow.

Loving the variety in handmade pillows you can find these days. I love the Audrey Hepburn pillow that is featured in this shop by Regan Saunders. Keen to start sewing some for myself! I have four pillows which are a bit outdated now and would love to make my own :)

Before I die.

Found this a couple of weeks ago through I Art U's blog and this project totally touched me, I just had to share it with you all. Candy Chang is a public installation artist, designer and urban planner and this is one of the little projects where she turned the side of an abandoned house into an art instillation. What a way to get you to think and use art as a way to get a community involved. As you can see, this was quite a popular idea, and pretty soon the wall was filled.

It’s about turning a neglected space into a constructive one where we can learn the hopes and aspirations of the people around us.

Ah! Amazing! So, in saying that: Before I die I want to have my own exhibition, create life, change a life and be free to always be me. That actually took me quite a while to write, gets you thinking! Now it's your turn :)

Also, I have set up a Facebook page for my blog, so this is where you can get the latest updates - psssst for example a brand new-oh-so-exciting competition starting Thursday!
