Froschkind.

Okay, so been stuck at home all day with the sickness, so haven't had the most pleasant of days. But thank goodness for home made pumpkin soup that always seems to make me feel better.

That, plus these beautiful prints by Froschkind! It definitely brightened my day I must say. I think I particularly love these prints, as it is so similar to the style of design I would say I do. Absolutely love seeing mixed media and the scrapbook look!

In other news, Neil had his first couple of days in the jewellery store, and went really well! I wasn't too sure how people would respond to a guy serving them in our store, but luckily he's so loveable he did so well :) But a bit of encouragement always helps for that too! (He's got twitter, so make sure you share the love!) Okay, off to wrap up myself in a blanket and warm up with tea!

Mariam Sitchinava.

I absolutely love these photo series by Mariam Sitchinava! The backdrop in this last photo makes her shoes and flowers jump out at you - I find it absolutely stunning! Plus the saturation and tones are just beautiful and it definitely makes me think of the season we are moving into at the moment - rainy days and misty mornings (eventhough today was absolutely incredible!).

The nights are getting colder, and I think it is finally time we put on the electric blanket. Even though, I must say last night Neil did the sweetest thing and acted as my own personal electric blanket - coming into our room after cleaning up and getting ready for bed, found him on my side of the bed reading. After asking him if we are now swapping sides, he just simply replied "Just thought I would warm up your side for you..." and then moved over to his side again and continued reading. Oh bless! What a man! This behaviour is definitely encouraged, don't you think? :)

I See Red.

Glassons puffy sleave top. Vintage red dress. Crocheted I love Billy boots.

Lately, as you may know, the husband and I have decided to take the buns, Flopsy, for little walks. It just seems like the right thing to do, she is our little pet, possibly putting on some winter pounds and needs to keep fit...right? Well we had a treat for her, as we ventured futher than just the sidewalk outside our home. Unfortunately the weather turned real bad, really quickly, and we were nearly blown over (which you might be able to tell from the photos). But at least we managed to snap in a few shots and have a bit of a run before we made for a nice cosy, warm home. Don't you just love our matching red? I thought it was rather cute, but that is just because I love this little girl so much!

Now looking back on these photos, I feel a little bit like red riding hood. I've never worn red before, and I am still kind of getting used to colour, but I couldn't resist this pleated number from my latest opshop trip! Now next up, I think I really, really badly need a warm winter jumper or coat. Every day is getting colder now, and I am running out of options to keep warm! Any suggestions on where to find some yummy jumpers?

And of coarse, couldn't quite resist capturing our little buns with daddy. Gosh, so loveable! (both of them!). And yes, yes, I know. Our friends tell us all the time. It's a telltale sign that we are ready for babies. All in due time friends :) For now, we are happy with just one bun!

Hi, You Look Beautiful Today!

Amanda: Top c/o Modcloth. Hat c/o Market HQ. Supre Skirt.
Me: Vintage Maroon Dress Shirt. Glassons Skinny Belt. Luichiny Shoes. A&C Cubism Necklace.

So today was a bit of a sad day for myself. This will be the last outfit post Amanda and I will be doing in store, as Amanda is moving onto another job on Monday. I will be missing her dearly, and not sure who I will be able to call on when some freaky person comes in store, or who I can share my excitement with when new stock arrives - the joys of retail, don't judge! At least it's not like she is moving to another city or country, I just won't be seeing her as often now as what I am used to. But still, having one of your best friends work with you is such a special treat. So sorry if this is a bit of a sloppy goey post today, but Amanda, I love you! I will miss working with you, but like I've said to you before, I know our paths will cross again with working together...someway, somehow :) I am a little bit excited about the fact that I am dragging the husband in store next week to do a couple of shifts. I know he will be able to talk the ladies into buying some goodies...totally I think his presence will be enough to make the girls come in. I am sorry, but I have to say, he's quite the stud!

Ok, ok, ok, I will stop with the smooch talk! I was so super stoked to find this little maroon number tucked away in an opshop yesterday. It was waiting there specially for me, as I have been hunting a dress of this colour for the last couple of months, and it is so much better when you find it for $10! Score!

Oh and might I add my excitement for this giveaway sponsored by Kings of Carnaby?! Wow! I've definitely got my fingers crossed for this one, as I am eyeing out the Knightsbridge dress which I am completely and utterly in love with. Will be such a good addition to add to the winter wardrobe.

Happy weekend everyone x

Something Fresh.

Pom Pom Factory

Wooh! You may have noticed a bit of a change this morning as you stop by my blog. I felt it's time for something fresh, so I decided to revamp the blog into a cleaner, simpler layout. Hope you like it and find it easy to navigate through. There are still a few things that need tweeking, so bare with me, it is quite late as I am typing this so will find the time tomorrow to finish off the odd ends! I would love to hear your feedback, so feel free to let me know, or shoot through an email.

Hope you are all having a happy week! Yay, almost weekend! :)

The Morning After The Night Before.

How stunning is this winter collection by fellow Kiwi, Juliette Hogan. Her collection, titled The Morning After The Night Before, is filled with gorgeous pleated skirts, pastel colours, and bows of coarse. I absolutely adore the nice heavy knits styled with a softer material, like the silks or leather, which I think works wonderfully. Classic pieces reinvented for a contemporary working girl, and I must say, I absolutely love!!

Half way.

(Miqui Brightside)

It feels like this year has gone by way too fast! It is June already! How did that happen? Normally when it gets to this time of the year I start getting a bit frantic and start thinking about all the things I still want to get done before the end of the year. Is anyone else like me that always procrastinate and think oh I can do that tomorrow, maybe even next week and before you know it, it's JUNE!

So I thought, okay, great time to reflect and think back of the things I did actually manage to get done! That way atleast I can feel a bit better about it being half way through the year already:

♥ Celebrated three years of blissful marriage (yay!).
♥ Did a week long camping trip in the Hawke's Bay.
♥ Adopted the sweetest little bunny, she's our little darling.
♥ Started working as a Graphic Designer for the best place in the world.
♥ Enjoyed a night out at the Diana World Tour.
♥ Went to Fiji for my brother's wedding.
♥ Met baby Eli. (yaaaay!)
♥ Witnessed my brother in law propose to my friend.
♥ Got a DOT COM.
♥ Feels like I am getting better at reading more books. Done three so far haha!

Sigh. Oh that feels better :) What are your top memories of 2011 so far?
So many more to be had!

Scandinavian dream.

Dreaming, dreaming, dreaming....dreaming! How exciting it is to dream ay? And oh how I LOVE to dream about THE house. The house where we will have our first mini-me. The house that will smell like homemade bread and cupcakes daily. The house that is filled with creativity and music constantly being played (uhm by that time Neil WILL have an electric kit, so he's not bashing around the drums all day). The house that will entertain. The house that will inspire. Yes, this is the house of my dreams.

Now these houses, photographed by Per Gunnarsson, are just some tasters of the Scandinavian inspired house that I would like to own one day.

♥ Big shelves, wall space, natural light flowing in, and a kitchen filled with lots of cubboards and bench space that I would like to spend all day, every day in there!

The Gently Unfurling Sneak

OH isn't this just a little shop of wonderment?

The Gently Unfurling Sneak is the work of Melbourne designer Anika Cook, who started the label as Sneak Design in 2006 to make extra cash while studying. After finishing university Anika had trouble leaving her fledgling business behind, and after a brief and ill-advised bout of working in IT, she quit to ‘make stuff’ full-time. Now encompassing a wearable and intriguing mix of draped, tucked and casually tailored clothing, beautiful wooden and fabric accessories and intricately formed artworks, The Gently Unfurling Sneak has found its place in the art-fashion-design world, and is happily far away from IT.

Such a quirky arrangement of fashion, arts and crafts!
