Button Up.

Coat - Myer. Shoes - Jo Mercer.

The last few weeks have been cooling down incredibly! If I don't venture outside the doors of our house with at least three layers of clothes and a scarf, I most likely will freeze to death. It did make me feel slightly better when I heard that this is one of the coldest winters Melbourne has seen in a while, so at least then surely I am not over reacting (...or maybe I am? I don't know, I wasn't made for cold weather!). All I can say is I am keeping buttoned up this winter!

Lovely Links.

I love that technology has given us so many sources of inspiration right at our fingertips! I thought I would take the time to share some of my favourite links I have come across this past week.

So, in no particular order, here they are:

1. Making Nice in the Midwest.
Mandi (you will all know her from Here's Looking at Me Kid) has recently made the move to a new blog called Making Nice in the Midwest. She has been a long time blogger and her post Blogging Wisdom and a Fresh Start is filled with so many wise words on how to improve your blog. Go on, read it, now!

2. Create a tree branch hanging rail.
Yes! Yes you should! Since we are still in the process of finding a new home (along with new furniture, appliances, bedding, the lot!) I have been reading a lot of interior magazines to gather some ideas for our home. Inside Out magazine has some super rad DIY projects within it's covers, but I stumbled upon this online one on Home Life whilst searching home ideas.

3. Blogshop
Bri Emery from Design Love Fest runs the most fantastic workshops in the US for new bloggers and creates an environment for anyone to learn basic skills to improve the presentation on your blog. These courses include Photoshop and Video classes (personal videos on blogs? Love it!! Might be keen to try it myself some day!) and definitely worth a look if you are in the USA :)

4. Top 10 Instagramers
This post by my dear friend Amanda from Here Comes The Sun I found truly fascinating! Instagram has become a new platform for everyone to get creative and hands on with digital photography and social media. This post lists Amanda's Top 10 Instagramers, which I found so inspiring I had to jump online and check out their feeds.

Enjoy x

Flutter By.

What is it about butterflies that is just so fascinating and beautiful? No matter how many butterflies I come across, I will never get tired of admiring their beautifully intricate patterns, colours and combinations. Recently we made a trip to the Melbourne Museum, which was incredible! Their collection of insects (yes, all the creepy crawlies included) was astounding but as you can imagine, I had to stop and stare when we came past the butterflies. These are just a few snapshots I managed to capture, but if you are ever in the area, I would recommend you stop by!

One Month.

I cannot believe this weekend will mark our first official month living in Melbourne! It has come and gone so quickly, it's hard to figure out what we did with all that time. But then I remember all the walking, finding great coffee spots, going through the amazing cathedrals, exploring endless amount of alleyways with their glorious little shops, more walking, meeting up with old friends, having spectacular soup in Degraves Place, indulging in cupcakes from Little Cupcakes, enjoying chocolaty treats from Koko Black and going through so many shops that I cannot even remember half their names!! So all in all, it has been a great month :)

I also couldn't help but share the happiness that is my latest purchase from ASOS, Shirt with Bug print (really, it's just butterflies). I am so in love with this piece, it has already won a place in my favourites. And not to mention, it arrived at my doorstep within 5 days! Shot ASOS, fully impressed with the fast posting!

Oh look at that, it's weekend! Enjoy lovelies x

Coffee & Cupcakes.

One thing about making the move from a fairly small city (okay, very small in comparison to Australian cities!) to a city that has the same amount of people as the population of NZ, is that there are sooo many people and we know hardly anyone! That's when I jumped at the opportunity to catch up with an old school friend who recently moved over to Melbourne as well.

With so many corners and alleys to explore, it didn't take us long to stumble across some rather sweet cupcake shops. In fact, we probably walked past ten chocolate shops, bakeries, specialised macaron cafes and cupcake shops in one street alone! But this one was just devine! Little Cupcakes was one of the first cupcake bakeries in Melbourne and is still going strong! With so many delicious flavours to choose from, I won't hesitate in making another trip there to try a few more :)

Wild One.

I just stumbled across a series of photos taken on our last week in New Zealand and couldn't help but share a few of my favourites of my 'wild one' (yes, totally referring to the beard!). As I have been without the husband for the past two weeks, I am getting rather desperate to have him back now. So many places I found this last week which I cannot wait to show him! Plus it will be our mission the next couple of weeks to start scouting out potential future homes for us, so yes pretty ecstatic to have him home! And not to mention the fact that I have been missing him like a completely crazy woman!!! But I won't get too soppy and sentimental on here...I will spare you all! ;) Instead I will just stare at these pictures for some eye-candy and daydream of my man until I get the real thing back!

Happy weekend! x

Winter Needs.

Low Luv Aztec Ring l House of Zoi
Cape Metal Embellishe Shirt l Romwe
Ankle Chinos by Cheap Monday l General Pants
Susie Buckle Coat l Handsom
Betts Livingston l The Iconic
Zig Zag Sweater by Something Else l General Pants

Winter has arrived and I am quickly learning how quickly it gets cold in Melbourne. Maybe it's just me, but I always seem to be cold! When I look at my wardrobe at the moment, it just doesn't look like it's going to handle this weather, so I have been keeping my eye out for some new items to add to my wardrobe.

A few things I have discovered so far:
1. You can never wear to many layers! And that's not a bad thing, as you can always coordinate different layers with colours, patterns, textiles to create an awesome look.
2. Get a decent coat or jacket! Preferably one with a hood or high collar to keep your neck warm from that icy breeze. I spotted the Buckle Coat during the first week here and fell totally in love!
3. I don't wear pants much (I only have one trusty pair of jeans) however in this weather it's rather necessary to invest in some! I am planning on getting some chinos :)

And lastly...
4. Stock your cubboards with lots of tea! I am having withdrawal symptoms from not having my 3+ daily dose of Healtheries Green Tea with Raspberry. Can you believe it that I haven't managed to find any here yet?? So recruiting my mother-in-law to bring some for me on her visit next week! God bless my family :)
